The trails of Kotamayu caused the youngest of the Reaped, Doug, to fall in to a permanent, traumatic coma. Left on a desert planet for dead, a subconscious protector was born - Yudasarus - who grew from Dougs own skull and brain tissue. The terrifying simpleton is kind and noble, always willing to put himself in dangers way to protect the others; as long as Doug is never the one being harmed. Yudasarus has all the hallmarks of an imaginary friend - as people get older, their imaginations become more introverted and they imagine parallel versions of themselves. Yudasarus' existence proves Dougs youth and innocence.
If Doug were ever to awaken, Yudasarus would surely return to nothing; and while he fears that day, he would never choose to live in Doug's place.
